Okay. So my family and I went to Big 5 in Pasadena today and we found this dog. She has no collar (and no signs that it ever did, trust me when a dog normally wears one there's big lovely marks like when you wear a ring) and she isn't micro-chipped, so no owner to be found. We went to Glendale humane society and they don't know anything about her... so anyway, she's incrediably sweet, is good in the car and walks well on leash, and knows the "sit" command. She's clean and seems healthy, her teeth and whiter than my dogs' teeth, so she's well taken care of...she's now at my house, if anyone knows about her, please let me know. Comment and tell me!

Can anyone recommend a good, reputable, carpet cleaning service? Thanks!

Know of any Mommy and Me movie theaters in the SG Valley? I know Paseo does it, but I'd like more options. Have any of you tried taking your baby to a regular movie showing? Edward sleeps through everything so I'm not too concerned about disturbing him or other movie goers...

Hey all! Does anyone have any recommedations for good daycare services/preschools in Pasadena/Altadena? I'll be going back to work in April, and my little one will be about 3.5 mos by then. We prefer group daycare in a licensed, professionally managed facility vs. in-home/nanny care...

Hello again. Thank you, Erin, for the warm welcome. I think any support a SAHM can get is a good thing.
I was wondering... does the group ever meet up for coffee, mommy movies or anything? As I mentioned, I haven't lived in Cali for too long, and don't know many people, especially in the Pasadena area. I'd love to meet at a park or something for a bit of a playdate, if anyone else is interested in getting out and enjoying this beautiful weather.
I was also wondering if anyone had any advice about the Huntington Library. I've never been, but I understand that it's free admission the first Thurs. of every month. I was thinking about going on July 7th, but was wondering if it was worth it to just pay the admission price and avoid a crowd. I am just not sure how popular a destination the library is.
Also... I was wondering if anyone could recommend a babysitter. It's been almost a year since my husband and I have had a night out together, and we could really use a bit of "us" time. It's a hard thing to move to a new place and try to find someone you trust with the most important things in your life.
I appreciate any advice!

Hi! I'm so excited to have found this group. I moved to Pasadena last September, had hoped to find a community of this nature then... apparently, I was searching a few months too soon!
My name is Tiffany, and I have 2 children - a daughter who is 2 1/2, and a son who is 6 months. I'm currently a stay-at-home mom, but have recently decided to try to find work.
Having moved while pregnant, I felt a bit sluggish, and haven't really gotten to see all that this area has to offer. I hope I can get to know all of you!

Does anyone know of any good parks in this area that have fenced in playground areas? I'm looking to organize a list meet-up for a So Cal moms group (punky moms). Some of us in the group, including myself have toddlers who are very adventurous. So, we'd like to find somewhere that we can sit and chat without constantly getting up to retrieve our little ones from running too far afield.
Any ideas would be appreciated. It doesn't need to be in Pasadena. Last time we met at Griffith Park. That area, Glendale, SF Valley to Monrovia would also be okay.
Thanks in advance for any ideas that you guys are able to pass along.
P.S. I did think of Tournament Park at Cal Tech. But, I figured that might be a little harder for people not familiar with the area to find.

family friendly fun?
So what do you do around here with your little ones? We bought season passes to The Huntington Library - and it's been great. The new Children's Garden is beautiful. But other than that, I'm having a hard time finding fun things to do with a baby in tow.
One can only walk around Old Town for so long before it get boring. :)

I just found this group... I am Tiffayne, 25 mommy to Matthew who is 10 months old. We live in Temple City, and I go to PCC where I am a child development major. I see this is a pretty new community, but I hope it does grow... I am in need of some local mothers to chat with.

This a brand new community, so please don't be afraid to join due to lack of members. Please feel free to post anything you like (following simple LJ courtesy please - large pics behind cuts, no advertising unless relevant, etc.)
My name is Erin and I'm 25 with one child (6 mo.) and I look forward to (hopefully) making this community something fun and special. Current Mood: hopeful
